Just amazing. Every single time everyone is so kind here and so fast. The food is amazing too and tastes so homemade. I love the idea of family style dining. The atmosphere just reminds everyone of their grandma's house. Amazing, especially for birthdays :)

A great place for southern comfort food! May be too pricey for some ($21.99 for all-you-can eat plus $7-$8 for dessert), but well worth the price! Service was excellent and friendly. Don't miss this family owned and operated (and oriented) gem!

We went Sunday after our lunch plans were changed last minute. We called ahead for a reservation and the process couldn't have been simpler. They even pushed our reservation up 30 minutes when we were ahead of time. I grew up on fried chicken, black eyed peas, stewed tomatoes and cornbread and this was the best I've had since my grandmother passed away. The service was quick, friendly, and went way beyond expectations. The entire staff was friendly and glad to answer questions and talk about their food and history, you could tell they were all proud to work there and proud of the food they served. The restaurant is definitely dated and may be missing some modern conveniences but the atmosphere was cute and comfortable. The only negative about the entire visit was trying not to slip into a food coma on the trip back to town.

This was amazing experience! Great service a nice family feal. Food was next level. You order food for the table and eat like a thanksgiving meal I had chiekcn and roast beef as my meat and so many sides. Finished off with a cup of apple cobbler all for a very reasonable $65. I would highly recommend taking the drive out here for a great meal

The Dried Chicken is to die for, the brownie sundae was delicious, The atmosphere takes you back in time 40 or 50 years, and the service was Stellar. The food reminds me very much of my grandma's from my childhood. Highly recommend this Powhatan local gem to anyone in the area!

Husband’s 89th birthday with 7 friends. We were treated so special and had a very wonderful dinner and they made him a chocolate on chocolate birthday cake from scratch. It was delicious and he had plenty to take home to enjoy later. Could not have been any better. Will come again.

Disappointed for the price. We lost one member of our party due to health reasons. No refund. Instead, we could take a plate home. Ok…she wasn’t in town. Turkey was some odd store bought thing. Like Hormel or something? Store bought rolls that were dry and crunchy. Family of five but four, since we lost one, was $250!! We had other families with us yet, the waitress brought tiny dishes of turkey out. But plenty of, you guessed it…store bought rolls and mashed potatoes. They clearly have a strategy. When I asked for the carry out container (styrofoam) for the missing person from our party (awkward), they charged an extra $3 for it. Good stuffing and country ham. Also had great sweet potato casserole. Pumpkin spice cake was good but the slice size was pitiful. You could get “premium desserts” for an additional fee. The margin per head must easily be 500%. At this price, I won’t be back. Server was snippy at times.

We love getting take out fried chicken to enjoy at home. The chicken is wonderfully crispy. We just wish they wouldn't use so much salt. The salt overpowers the chicken. If less salt was used it would be five stars!
